Reporting / PACS

Dr Glenn & Partners Medical Imaging are dedicated to providing our referring doctors with the highest quality, specialised service. We have embraced the use of information technology to provide fast, effective and accurate communication between our referrers and our staff.

Further to this, we have recently commissioned a comprehensive PACS system for digital storage of images with the ability to provide referring doctors with online access to patient images and data.

Electronic Delivery of Radiology Reports

Using HealthLink, a leading secure messaging service provider, your reports will be encrypted and signed with our digital certificate and digitally transferred via a secure socket layer internet process to an EDI account at your practice. There are no costs associated to you for using this service.

For evaluation of small bowel Crohn’s disease

Item 63740 – MRI to evaluate small bowel Crohn’s disease for

(a) Evaluation of disease extent at time of initial diagnosis of Crohn’s disease

(b) Evaluation of exacerbation/suspected complications of known Crohn’s disease

(c) Evaluation of known or suspected Crohn’s disease in pregnancy

(d) Assessment of change to therapy in patients with small bowel Crohn’s disease

Note – Assessment of change of therapy can only be claimed once in a 12 month period

Item 63743 – MRI for fistulising perianal Crohn’s disease for

(a) Evaluation of pelvic sepsis and fistulas associated with established or suspected Crohn’s disease

(b) Assessment of change to therapy of pelvic sepsis and fistulas from Crohn’s disease

Note – Assessment of change of therapy can only be claimed once in a 12 month period

GP referred Medicare-eligible MRI services are  now available

For patients over the age of 16 years

  • Head – for patients 16 years and older for unexplained seizure(s) and /or unexplained chronic headache with suspected intracranial pathology
  • Spine – for patients 16 years and older for suspected cervical radiculopathy
  • Spine – for patients 16 years and older for suspected cervical spine trauma
  • Knee – for patients 16 years and older following acute knee trauma where there is inability to extend the knee suggesting the possibility of acute meniscal tear and/or clinical findings suggesting acute anterior cruciate ligament tear

For Children under the age of 16 years

  • Head – For Children under the age of 16 years – for unexplained seizures, unexplained headaches where significant pathology is suspected, and/or paranasal sinus pathology which has not responded to conservative therapy
  • Spine – For Children under the age of 16 years – following imaging for significant trauma, unexplained neck or back pain with associated neurological signs and/or unexplained back pain where significant pathology is suspected
  • Knee – For Children under the age of 16 years – following imaging for internal joint derangement
  • Hip – For Children under the age of 16 years – following imaging for suspected septic arthritis, suspected slipped capital femoral epiphysis, suspected Perthes disease
  • Elbow – For Children under the age of 16 years – following imaging where a significant fracture or avulsion injury is suspected that will change management
  • Wrist – For Children under the age of 16 years – following imaging where a scaphoid fracture is suspected

Note that these services are only available to children under the age of 16 years on the day that the scan is performed.
